In April 2024, the Working Group on Ageing Populations and Sustainability (AWG) of the European Commission (EC) has published updated demographic, economic and budgetary projections for EU member states within the framework of the Ageing Report (AR) 2024. In this context, the Luxembourg National Council of Public Finance (CNFP) has just published an Assessment of long-term fiscal sustainability, its fourth evaluation of this kind and that follows three earlier evaluations from October 2021, October 2017 and June 2018.
